advice. We have published below the answers to a number of frequently asked questions, the answers to which may also be of benefit to you. Q. What photographic cameras do you use? A. We use a variety of cameras and format dependant on the work which we are undertaking. Typically we use either Hassleblad or Bronica medium format cameras for traditional wedding photography and portraiture while reportage wedding photography is undertaken on Nikon and Canon 35mm cameras. Q. Why medium format for traditional wedding photography and 35mm for reportage? A. Medium format cameras produce a larger negative than that of 35mm cameras, consequently when a photographic print is produced from a larger negative (medium format being of a larger neg size than 35mm) a greater amount of clarity is retained in the final printed image, however medium format cameras are physically larger, have to be focused manually do not lend themselves to the more candid style of reportage photography at the 35mm format excels. As they have a greater degree of automation and are inherently quicker to work with therefore more able to capture the fleeting moment. Q. Is digital photography an option for my wedding photography? A. As from January 2003 (if not sooner) digital photography will be used at all weddings we cover. When compared with traditional stills photography digital photography has both advantages and disadvantages of varying degrees. Digital photography provides endless artistic possibilities, colours maybe changed, details within the image maybe manipulated the world is your oyster, anything is possible. Q. What video format do you use? A. We have available to us most of the popular industrial formats such as S-VHS, Hi8, DV, Mini DV, and DVCAM. All our wedding videos are produced at every stage of production on DVCAM to maintain the broadcast quality sound and image standards you deserve. Q. What is DVCAM? A. DVCAM is a digital video format of broadcast quality, because it is a digital format it maybe duplicated/edited without any depreciative loss of sound or picture quality Q. How many weddings do you undertake on any one day? A. As a professional full-time company we only undertake one wedding on any one day. Q. Do you employ freelance operators? A. Never at any time do we employ operators or freelancers as we feel that the high standards which we provide can not be maintained or effectively monitored to the satisfaction of our client by doing so. All our wedding day commissions are undertaken by our own full-time, professionally qualified photographers and videographers Q. Are you members of any professional bodies representing your profession A. We are active members of WEVA International (Wedding & Event Videographers Association) the leading international organisation for those specialising in celebratory video production.
